Multi day micro wedding in Brooklyn:
Danielle & Dylan

Our dear friends got married in their backyard in Brooklyn and held their reception in the community center gymnasium next door that their friends helped decorate ❤️ Plus some raucous karaoke!

This couldn’t have been more different than our normal MO — hundreds of guests right in the middle of the city is a far cry from our usual quiet mountain elopements — but at its heart, this felt so true to us. Danielle & Dylan’s whole weekend together was so easy going and fun. Their entire community gathered around them to help a truly excellent party come together and we were so happy to be a part of it.

The night before, about 35 people (us included!) spent hours working on the ceremony site & reception space. Danielle & Dylan built a little deck in their surprisingly spacious backyard during quarantine so they could safely spend time with friends in their pod. Getting married there was a wild idea that probably shouldn’t have worked, but it totally did! Danielle is a textile artist, so she created a backdrop of naturally dyed silk with a pom pom garland, and some friends brought in orchids and tropical potted plants for the altar. Next door, the rest of us turned the gymnasium into a super cute old-school wedding reception. A ton of tulle, a disco ball, and a balloon arch (that I personally put together!!) made for such a fun and low-key vibe.

The day-of was so incredibly sweet, everyone cried a ton and thanks to Austin’s support I got to put my camera away a lot and just experience being a bridesmaid and guest! We danced for hours, took a ton of photos in the vintage film photo booth, ate amazing Indian food, and capped the night off with some pretty rowdy karaoke. Such an amazing night with a lot of my oldest and dearest friends — we were absolutely honored to both be there as guests and to be able to document the entire weekend for them.

If you’ve also got an idea for your wedding that’s a bit beyond our usual, definitely still let us know! Fit is truly about so much more than the way a wedding looks.
